- Transportation of your loved one from the place of death into our care locally
- Professional services by a California Cremation Director and staff
- Obtaining and preparation of all the required authorizations, death certificates and permits.
- Initial notification to Social Security.
- Care and refrigeration of the deceased (eliminates the need for embalming)
- An alternative cremation container (eliminates the need for a casket)
- Cremation process performed by licensed crematory operators in our licensed facility. Each cremation is performed individually.
- Disposition includes your choice of:

What to expect
Steps in the cremation process
-
The surviving family, friends or authority calls the California Cremation Society at
1-800-816-57777
- We promptly pick up and transport your loved one to our nearest facility
- The body is cared for in a refrigerated holding facility until the cremation takes place
- Our staff prepares the death certificate, disposition permit and other necessary State and County records
- Family, friends or responsible party pay for the cremation before the cremation takes place
- Cremation takes place, individually
- Cremated remains are taken to the California Cremation Society office in the appropriate urn (usually 7-10 days after death has occurred)
- Final Disposition is your choice;
Release the ashes to a designated person
or scatter in a cemetery garden
or scatter in the San Francisco Bay near the Golden Gate Bridge
If a death occurs at the Hospital, Hospice, Nursing Home or Assisted Living Center.
The Hospice Nurse, Hospital Nurse or Physician will come to the room and make the pronouncement of death. Ask the Nurse to contact
California Cremation Society at
1-800-816-5777.
If a death occurs at home:
Call the local Police. They will determine if there was any foul play and authorize us to come and bring the body into our care.
If a Death has occurred and the Medical Examiner or county Coroner is involved.
